I was born and raised in Saint Paul, MN and grew up attending camp Unistar with family and friends since I was a child. Since then, I’ve participated in just about every type of camp week (open, close, work, youth, etc.), have served as a volunteer many times over the years, and was a member of the Camp Unistar staff during the 2018 season.
Currently, I serve as the Policy and Advocacy Coordinator for Rural Coalition, an alliance of farmers, ranchers, farm workers, indigenous, migrant, and working people from across the United States who work together under the common values of unity, hope, people, and the land. I support Rural Coalition and its diverse and expansive membership as we collectively work to identify and advocate for changes to our food and farm systems through the Farm Bill, annual agriculture appropriations, federal regulations, state and local organizing, and many other avenues.
At Camp Unistar, I especially love being immersed in the beautiful natural landscape that surrounds us, the sense of community that develops so easily among campers, and the freedom to be yourself and do anything or nothing at all. A few of my favorite things to do at Camp are sail, swim, and play card and board games.
