Paper Pastimes: Marbled & Decorative Papers
Paper Pastimes: Marbled & Decorative Papers (6 Day Week)
Program Leader: Rachel Payne
Experiment with marbling, paste papers, cyanotype, and stamping to create a unique collection of decorative papers to assemble into a handmade album.
Get ready to dive into the colorful world of paper decoration! Over the course of the week, we’ll experiment with a different creative technique each day: flowing Asian suminagashi marbling, classic Western marbling, textured and playful 19th-century-style paste papers, sun-powered cyanotype prints, and even fun, hands-on potato stamping. By the end of the week, you’ll have a whole collection of your own unique decorative papers—and on the final day, we’ll assemble them into a beautiful album to keep, share, or gift. It’s a week full of color, texture, and endless possibilities for creativity!
